A few weeks ago in another blog post, I briefly lamented the universe’s paucity of femdom content that does not aim itself solely at masc subs, and lo - Pandora has yet again sought to redress that imbalance. You can’t say we never do anything for you!
Feminine Discipline is gorgeous: even from a purely artistic perspective these shots are lovely to look at. They make a beautiful gallery set, they work as well individually as they do together, and the whole collection really feels like a peek into dominant-Pandora’s own private boudoir.
Of course we’re not really here to look at these photos “from a purely artistic perspective”, are we. They are also, frankly, hot as hell; Pandora is dressed in a tight pencil skirt that hugs her every curve, her blouse unbuttoned just enough to leave you wanting more. The upskirt shots have a clandestine feel to them, letting you sneak a peek at her seamed stockings and the curve of her beautiful derrière. Throughout the set she toys with a variety of implements - hairbrush, strap, cane - and it’s clear to see she knows exactly how to handle them. And you, perhaps...
The real jewels of this set, though, are the photos that focus on Pandora’s face. So much of a D/s dynamic is played out in facial expressions, and these images replicate that beautifully. She looks stern, confident, relaxed; in some shots she’s giving you a glance of casual dominance, in others a mischievous smirk. She’s still deciding what she wants to do with you today, and she’s absolutely in control. This is the kind of photoset you’ll come back to again and again, always finding a new way to imagine what it is all that tension is building up to
I have a confession to make: when I first saw the opening shots of this film, I assumed Anty would be the one doling out the punishment.
It seems like the expected choice, really, doesn’t it? The surly butch dealer type, taking our Pandora in hand. Pandora herself is ever so femme in this scene, in a floral camisole and figure-hugging skirt, and my mind went directly to the classic butch top/femme bottom dynamic. But Dreams of Spanking has a long history of subverting the expected tropes, and this is no exception.
As the plot develops, it transpires that it won’t be like that at all - rather, a recalcitrant Anty is to be punished for her misdemeanours, bent over and beaten till her backside glows bright red. Pandora administers the punishment with clinical precision, taking time to line up every stroke and letting us see the excited glint in her eye. The resulting collection of welts is a sight to behold, and I winced in sympathy for Anty as Pandora instructed her to pull up her jeans. I too know how much that can sting!
In the end, though, my very favourite thing about this scene isn’t part of the punishment itself at all (though believe me, it’s a good’un). There’s this bit toward the end, just after the spanking has finished, where our co-stars are looking at each other in a long-angled shot - and for a moment, the screen sizzles with sexual tension. For all I knew it wasn’t part of the film, I half expected them to jump each other anyway.
And really that’s what we love most about Dreams of Spanking, isn’t it? So much of what we see here is real, even when the performers involved are actors playing a part. There’s nothing faked about the stingingly beautiful state of Anty’s bottom at the end of her punishment, and I reckon there wasn’t much faked in that snapshot of domme/sub desire either.
I could be wrong, of course. But if you’d like to see this scene for yourself - and it’s great fun from start to finish - it’s out now, and you can find it right here.
(PS - my second favourite thing about this film is Anty’s response when Pandora tells her she won’t hiring her as a dogsitter again: “But I love your dogs!”. We here at Dreams of Spanking are pleased to reassure you that no dogs were harmed in the making of this fantasy.)
POV porn films are a nicely immersive experience, though most of the ones I’ve seen in the past have been aimed solely at a male viewer. I once watched something that I’m sure was filmed by taping the camera to the end of the chap’s dick, which was a little disconcerting. Part of the charm of our latest film, Spanked and Scolded by Auntie Margaret, is that it is deliberately but not ostentatiously gender non-specific. Watching this video, so anyone who likes the idea of a proper old-fashioned OTK spanking from a dominant woman can feel that they are the one being thoroughly scolded, and about to feel that mean-looking hairbrush on their bare buttocks any minute.
Pandora, in her role as strict Auntie Margaret, wears a classy vintage outfit of frilled blouse, tight pencil skirt and wide patent belt, with a pair of deliciously intimidating black-rimmed specs. She’s also wearing vintage nylons. One of the nice touches which will thrill the vintage CP lover is the sound those stockings make each time she crosses and uncrosses her legs (and yes, you do get an upskirt flash or two of stocking-top.)
Something about this film put me in mind of my encounters with the Aristasian Empire back in the 90s: an all-female crew who were dedicated to vintage values, clothing, and domestic discipline: plenty of hairbrush spankings and stern lectures on it being for your own good were on the menu there. While I’m not in the least tempted to go over anyone’s knee myself, I enjoy Auntie Margaret’s classy charm, and the mixture of scariness and underlying mischief that comes across throughout. Her smirks left me wondering whether Auntie Margaret perhaps enjoys punishing naughty nieces and nephews a little too much...
It’s a simple premise, but effective: you-the-viewer know you’ve been bad and deserve everything you’re going to get, and the lovingly-detailed description of exactly what will happen to you and just how much it’s going to hurt, enlivened with various little mimes of pulling down your underwear and laying you over her lap, builds up the anticipation magnificently. It’s well-paced, with the tension increasing at a steady rate.
The effect on anyone who identifies as a brat or naughty little is easy to envisage. Go on, just think about how red your arse will get as you lie over Auntie Margaret’s lap, held firmly in place, with that wicked brush being wielded again and again, each stroke harder than the last one…
Before we go any further I should warn you that The Abusive Therapist is a severe spanking film. It is an edgy fantasy direct from the kinky imagination of spanking starlet Tai Crimson. Here's the scene description:
Tai plays a vulnerable young woman struggling with anxiety and intrusive thoughts who begins a course of therapy. She soon finds herself mentioning her spanking and humiliation fetish - but she isn't prepared for the reaction of her therapist, Pandora Blake. Pandora recommends a course of 'corrective therapy', based on the idea that Tai's ideation about being spanked only persists because she doesn't really know what it feels like. Once Tai understands that in reality, spankings hurt and there is nothing sexy about being embarrassed and punished, Pandora declares that Tai will be 'cured'.
Once Tai is thoroughly humiliated, Pandora takes her over her knee and raises her skirt, giving her a no-nonsense firm hand spanking to show her what it really feels like. As the punishment progresses onto Tai's bare bottom, Pandora becomes ever more sadistic. She applies the stingy, vicious bath brush to Tai's cheeks with vigour, punctuating the spanking with a lecture about how sick and disgusting Tai is for fetishising spanking. Pandora makes it clear that she will continue to administer this type of aversion therapy until Tai gets over her 'perversion'. Ultimately, in this humiliation fantasy, is it the patient who is perverted, or the therapist?
Please note that this comes with emphatic trigger warnings for kink-shaming, stigmatising language, and emotional and physical abuse of a vulnerable character by a mental health professional.
DIsclaimer: there is nothing wrong with having a spanking fetish, and this is definitely not how therapists should behave.
I was quite nervous about watching this scene, because while I am dominant I am not really comfortable delivering humiliation. It feels wrong, especially when it involves shaming someone for their kink. The idea of watching this film definitely put me outside my comfort zone. When Pandora (as the performer not the character) admitted how difficult she found it, I could really empathise. However, I should know not to worry when watching a Dreams of Spanking production, because this is really well done. This roleplay is very much led by the performers, and clearly shown that it is done with full consent (and a fair amount of enthusiasm from Tai).
The main film is book-ended with cuts of the performers laughing and joking behind the scenes. For me this really helped, and eased a lot of the concern I had about this type of humiliation. Seeing Tai having a great time before the in-character bit begins helped me relax and enjoy the film as a hot fantasy.
Tai has such an expressive face and a few times the camera zooms in on her expression. I loved the way she tries not to show her joy and excitement about the prospect of being spanked, but sometimes the mask slips and we see the arousal on her face. At one point Pandora tells her that only sick little perverts have the thoughts she does, and I noticed Tai let just an edge of a smile slip through. I found this film truly fascinating to watch because of these glimpses of Tai's enjoyment, and because of the energy in the roleplay. The way it all comes together feels very respectful, but at the same time very realistic.
Pandora does a great job of making the therapist a believable (and horrible) character, despite the outrageous and untrue things she is saying. The spanking is convincingly hard and very accurate, and Tai’s bottom bruises beautifully. It starts with hand spanking, and moves through a few spanking implements finishing with a vicious split-tailed tawse. The final close-up of Pandora with a slightly evil looking grin on her face, stroking the tawse while watching Tai leave the room, is perfection and finishes the scene perfectly. If you enjoy humiliation play I think this is going to be a must-watch film for you.
One of the things I've occasionally thought about, as a feminist who runs a spanking site, is content warnings. Fundamentally, the idea behind these is that if something might include content likely to trigger someone recovering from serious trauma, it's respectful to give notice in advance that the topic is likely to come up, so anyone who needs to can prepare themselves and isn't caught off guard.
I think it's a really great way of making material more inclusive. Yet I've never gone ahead and instituted content warnings on Dreams of Spanking, at least not overtly. What I do instead is to make the content of each scene very explicit in the tags and copy surrounding the film. I try not to spoiler plot twists, but I do often remove the element of surprise from how the story of a film unfolds, in the interests of pre-warning viewers what they can expect - both to catch the attention of people with particular niche tastes, and to pre-warn people who might find certain content distasteful or upsetting. So far, I've been happy with that system. But if any film on Dreams of Spanking has made me wonder if it should include a content warning, it's our latest film starring Tai Crimson.
When I was editing Caned at Home, I found parts of it so extreme - both in terms of the severity of the physical punishment and the nastiness of the verbal degradation and emotional abuse - that it made me feel uncomfortable. The whole scene was shot in a single take, so I didn't see any out-of-character interactions to break the tension and reassure me that Tai was okay with what was happening until the scene was over. However, I needn't have worried. The moment "cut" is called, Tai bounces up and enthusiastically tells me that she could have taken double the number of strokes. In fact, she almost seems disappointed that the scene hadn't been harder.
So I decided to reuse a film format that I trialled during our ATVOD investigation (and which may have played a part in our successful appeal win, although it's hard to be sure); showing snippets of out-of-character performer interviews or behind the scenes interaction both before and after the main film, to contextualise the fantasy in the real-world context of the performers' tastes and desires. Since we won our appeal, I hadn't particularly felt the need to do this - especially with films where the fantasy shows pleasure spankings and explicit consent. But Caned at Home is definitely not one of these.
If edgy domestic scenarios showing the disproportionately severe punishment of a helpless girl aren't a turn-off for you, Caned at Home has much to recommend it. In particular, the sequences of hard and fast cane strokes falling one after the other without a break are some of the most convincingly severe thrashing I've ever seen on a UK spanking site. Tai has a high tolerance, and this was the third time we'd played together; she'd asked me to push her to tears, and this was our last scene of the day, so there was no reason to hold back. As it turned out, even the nastiest verbal abuse I could come up with - and one of the hardest canings I've ever delivered on camera - weren't quite enough to break her.
Perhaps you love severe caning and verbal degradation as much as Tai does, in which case Caned at Home will be right up your street. But if, like me, you prefer to know for sure that the performers were into it before watching a scene of this intensity, I recommend watching the performer interview and behind the scenes video first, to reassure yourself that no only was Tai unharmed by the making of these scene, but actively enjoyed it. It's lovely to work with a young woman who is so in touch with her kinky sexuality, and so articulate at expressing her fantasies and fetishes.
Besides, severe canings that leave livid welts are most definitely not BBFC-compliant. Dreams of Spanking is currently the only UK spanking site where you can watch material like this, and we will remain so until the Digital Economy Bill means we have to stop, too. So enjoy it while you can.
Confession: I like the words 'corporal punishment' possibly even more than I like the word 'spanking.' There's more tied up in the phrase than just the simple act of smacking someone on the bottom.
I'm not saying we should rename this site to 'dreams of corporal punishment'. The beauty of 'spanking' is that it encompasses so much – from the erotic spanking between two people who are achingly horny for each other to the cold, harsh punishment of master to servant, and even the experimental sadism of the mad scientist studying pain.
Corporal punishment, though, summons a specific kind of institutional discipline, with rituals, traditions and rules. This week's unusual corporal punishment film has exactly that – but with a twist that I think makes it way more compelling.
Obviously for 'compelling' read: hot as all hell.
Mike Pain plays a strict headmaster, with very precise and firm ideas about discipline. Pandora tells me that the idea for this scene was inspired by Mike's upbringing in very strict South African schools, where corporal punishment was part of day to day life. (If this is of interest, check out Mike's interview at the bottom of the scene page for more real-life details of corporal punishment in the 1960s.)
In this scene, it's not a naughty student getting spanked, but a fellow member of staff. Pandora Blake plays the naïve new teacher, keen to impose discipline but totally unfamiliar with the school's methods. So Mr Pain offers to give her a distinctive training session - using himself as the subject.
As Pandora eagerly asks for a demonstration of how to administer corporal punishment, Mike obligingly bends over the desk. First with his trousers on, he lets Ms Blake test her right arm by smacking him on the bottom with a slipper. As she spanks him, he gives her suitable encouragement, and tips about the best place to land a swat. But in the classroom, Ms Blake would use the slipper on the bare bottom - and so as they gradually grow more comfortable with each other, the headmaster pulls down his trousers and pants so Ms Blake can get the full experience.
So what's the twist? Well, in most corporal punishment scenes, the focus is on correcting poor behaviour. You'd expect a teacher administering discipline to be firm and professional – swinging carefully calculated strokes to proportionately match the seriousness of the misdemeanour. In this scene, though, not only is the beating not a punishment, there's an extra spark flying between Ms Blake and Mr Pain. It's a spark that I suspect many Dreams of Spanking fans will recognise, and it's that moment when you realise not only do you find this spanking thing incredibly hot, but the person you're talking to does as well.
It's a gorgeous twist on a traditional punishment scenario, mainly because I think so many people will empathise with it. It certainly takes me back to those moments when unwitting partners have playfully smacked me on the bottom only to see the lightbulb go on over my head - and recognise that this might just be the start of something we have in common.
Mike's reassuring instructions and encouragement as Pandora beats him with the slipper and the vicious wooden ruler really does it for me. The characters have different levels of spanking experience – headmaster Mr Pain is an old hand while Ms Blake is a spanking newbie – but in terms of enjoyment, you can tell they're equally into it. From the glint in Ms Blake's eyes as she exclaims over the bright red marks left by the slipper, to Mr Pain's glowing encouragement that she try a few more strokes - and his insistence that she simply must beat him as hard as she can. 'Maintaining Discipline' is a film with all the rituals of corporal punishment, and all the joy of a spanking for pleasure.
In this blogpost I want to talk about intimacy. There are a million different ways you can establish intimacy with a partner, but establishing intimacy in art is a much trickier thing. How do you invite the viewer into a particular book, play or, in this case, porn scene?
Well, Pandora does just that in this week's video – she literally invites people in.
Lodger Wanted is a POV femdom tease – Pandora Blake plays the sexy landlady who invites you, the viewer, into her home. From the beginning you're placed directly into the scene, with the camera showing your first-person perspective as you follow her from room. Pandora also gives you some pretty intimate instructions - “I think there might be a stain on the back of my skirt, can you have a look?" - and some angry words if you're caught peeking.
The concept of viewer involvement in porn is pretty fascinating - it wasn't until very recently that POV porn has been possible. For most of human history pornographic material was necessarily something you'd see remotely – in paintings or drawings or woodblock prints. I'm not aware of any of this material taking a 'point of view' angle – although I'd be interested to know if it ever has. Are there woodblock prints drawn from the point of view of someone receiving oral sex? I suspect it wouldn't have occurred to the artist to do it. Perhaps those who were rich enough could afford live performances, but most people could only be as close to the performers as pen and ink would allow.
I tried to find out when the first POV porn was made, and it looks like – as withmany porn innovations – it first appeared in Japan. In the late 1980s it started as a niche concept, then gradually took off.
Now, though, there are a number of ways in which porn producers and performers share intimacy with their audience. From camming to blog comments, twitter and video blogs, many performers speak directly to their viewers, sometimes as recorded messages and sometimes as live interaction. The internet is an interactive medium, and now more than ever porn consumers are able to collaborate in the porn they watch - make suggestions, request customs, and submit ideas that can be turned into hot new films. Lodger Wanted is one of a growing number of viewer requested scenes on Dreams of Spanking - others include Bathtime and The Stableboy.
Then there's POV porn – like this femdom tease video which invites the viewer to play the part of the prospective lodger, shown around Pandora's home while she flirts and teases, sashaying through the house and deliberately bending over to show off the way the tight skirt hugs her round bottom, and eventually removing her stockings and suspenders, before lounging naked on the bed and scolding you for watching her.
I like the idea of POV porn for a whole heap of different reasons. Firstly, it's pretty inclusive when you think about it – in this scene the "lodger" could be anyone, of any gender or body type. Secondly, there's an extra-sexy thrill from the feeling that the performer is addressing you directly. You're not a voyeur, you're a participant - the main character (in this case Pandora's coquettish landlady) is flirting with you.
A long time ago, playing Grand Theft Auto with a partner (I know, I know, it's not exactly the most PC of video games) we ended up in a discussion about strip clubs in games versus stripping at the cinema. Obviously there are some mainstream films with stripping scenes that are intensely hot – Salma Hayek performing a striptease with a live python in From Dusk Til Dawn, for instance – but there was something about visiting the strip club in Grand Theft Auto that both of us found more arousing. Even though it was repetitive, unrealistic, and nothing like a real strip club, it was happening to us in a way that film stripteases we'd seen had struggled to capture.
Part of it came from our involvement - we'd pressed the buttons to get our character into the club in the first place - but another significant factor was the fact that it was shot from our point of view. We were looking directly through our character's eyes, and having what felt like a more immediate interaction.
The same is true of other video games I've played. I'm not a fan of running around shooting things to collect random points, but give me a game like Mass Effect, where you build relationships with other characters and – if you're charming enough – eventually have sex with them? I'm sold.
I'm not the only one either – games developers and designers are currently working on innovative ways to use virtual reality to make our porn dreams come true. From simple POV sex videos to full-on interactive games, virtual reality hardware like the Oculus Rift means that a few years down the line, there'll be even more ways for producers to conjure the same feeling of intimacy.
Although sometimes it's good to sit back and watch, safe and sound behind a fourth wall that performers never break, there's something hot about putting yourself directly in the picture.
And if you agree, well, go and knock on Pandora's door – she's very welcoming.
Behind the scenes during the filming of Donna Draper's Secretary. Out-takes and out-of-character chatter as Pandora, Vix and Nimue discuss the perils of being over-ambitious, plan their Mad Men dialogue and negotiate the caning. Vix demonstrates her skill at remembering her mark, and shows off her famous poise (not including getting over excited while bending over in heels and nearly falling on her arse)!
The nearly-falling-over is definitely my favourite bit of this - not only because of the hilarious way Vix sways back and forth without moving her feet, but because the reason she lost her balance in the first place was that she was cracking up and slapping her thigh with delight, cackling "I love my life". I can't think why; all Nimue had said was that we could see her cane stripes through her sheer knickers. Perfectly normal observation if you ask me!
There are some things that are just hard-wired into my brain as sexiness triggers: words which will make the hairs on the back of my neck stand up, or give me that gut-punch of arousal that is almost impossible to describe. One of those things happens in our latest video, and I want to keep playing it over and over.
Donna Draper – a twist on Mad Men's Don Draper – is a ruthlessly strict boss. Played by Pandora Blake, Donna Draper takes no shit whatsoever from her secretary Vix Vixxxen. These two have an amazing dynamic in this caning scene – from Pandora's brusque instructions, “Stop talking right now.” to Vix's sassy and insubordinate retorts – everything about this relationship crackles with hotness.
Pandora's dressed in a tailored suit and tie, every inch the authoritative boss. Vix is dressed in a tight black skirt, hold-up stockings and sheer blouse: the perfect sexy secretary. But her eye-rolling, smart-mouthed counterpoints to Pandora's reprimands show that she's not one to take correction meekly, and I love the way she insists on disagreeing with her boss, even after she's been given six firm strokes of the cane.
There are some sparkling moments of recognition here – the homage to Mad Men in lines like “You're a woman, and you're lucky to have this job,” as well as the question “Are you married?” which almost had me phoning the employment tribunal. I love the way Donna Draper has the attitudes of a 1950s boss, but Vix is a much more souped-up version of Peggy Olsen: she stubbornly maintains her opinion, even when being given a secretarial caning for her attitude.
Storytelling is sexy. Whether it's written, audio, or dramatised on screen, storytelling can make the difference between something that's hot while you're watching it, and something that stays with you for a long time afterwards.
When I write the blogs for Dreams of Spanking, it's always important to pick the right key phrases so that people can find scenes during search. Judicial caning, hand spanking, over the knee, etc – it means that everyone knows what they'll get if they click through, and also serves to get people horny. If you're anything like me then the phrase 'over the knee' probably conjures instant hot mental images, so if a scene involves that kind of punishment I'll make sure to be clear about it.
But the problem with this kind of directness is that there are lots of other more nuanced things that might be particularly erotic, but that aren't as instantly recognisable. Let's face it – lots of people search for 'six strokes of the cane' but fewer people search for 'depersonalised punishment' or 'endurance punishment'. That's where storytelling comes in.
Depersonalised punishment is a really interesting thing to explore – the idea that someone is receiving a beating because they have to rather than because they specifically deserve it. Rituals and ceremonies are both great vehicles for this: the punishment can be impersonal because it's not an individual need but part of a greater story.
Our new film, The Clone's Training, is sci-fi porn that fully explores this concept. Clone number eight – played by the gorgeous David Weston – is being drilled in the nuance and detail of the behaviour of his progenitor, the Crown Prince. Identical genetically, the clone and the Crown Prince are impossible to tell apart just by looking. Birthmarks and scars have all been faithfully reproduced, and the clone now needs to perfect his behaviour so he can infiltrate the royal family and 'become' the prince.
Instructor Pandora Blake gives firm and strict directions: stride purposefully, keep your chin up, hand behind your back. Every movement, in other words, must match the Prince's own gestures. And, of course, he must also be marked so that any blemish on his body matches exactly the ones on the Crown Prince.
A punch to the hip should replicate a bruise the Prince sustained, but to truly fool the medical scanners, clone number eight will have to have a six stroke judicial caning, just as the military Prince received only the day before...
You don't often see sci-fi porn, probably because most people associate it with either huge budgets or crap special effects. But there's a wealth of hot potential in science fiction, and you don't need CGI to make the concept work. Dystopic worlds in which individuals must behave a certain way. 1984-style future societies where citizens unquestioningly obey. And, of course, the deliciously sexy possibilities of armies of identical human-looking robots (I'm looking at you, Battlestar Galactica, with your sexy Cylons) and cloning technology.
This film plays on the clone scenario to dish out an incredibly clinical, depersonalised punishment. While many will watch this because they just love caning stories, others will be aroused by the impersonal nature of the punishment itself. The medical officer and instructor, played by Pandora, is concerned only with shaping clone number eight into as close a copy of the Prince as possible. As a consequence, when she strikes him with the cane it's not in anger or lust, but with a calculated necessity. And when he bends over to receive the strokes it's not because he feels he deserves them, it's because he is so used to obedience that it doesn't occur to him to question why he has to go through this. He just knows he must fulfil his destiny.
When you've watched The Clone's Training, if you're after more porn with amazing stories, it's well worth exploring Dreams of Spanking's 'sci-fi and fantasy' tag. The Royal Wedding is an audio story about a medieval princess, featuring an amazing public flogging which – again – is an impersonal ritual, but has more significance when told from the perspective of the princess who endures it. I also really like 'Psychic Weapon C' – another sci-fi porn story, but here the pain is used as a means to extract information. It's not quite as clinical, because the victim is actively fighting against the beating, but the fact that it's administered by henchmen makes it – in my opinion – an awesome example of pain being dished out as a matter of unflinching necessity.
So that's why storytelling is sexy – it's not just about a simple act, it's about the before and after, the build up and the tension. I could watch any scene in which a beautiful guy gets six of the best, and be delighted to have seen it, but the story turns it into something I think about for a long time. Not least because I can't help imagining exactly what happened to clones one through seven...
